Oldham: Woman sexually assaulted in Alexandra Park

On Monday (July 15) at around 11pm, a woman was sexually assaulted by a man in Alexandra Park.

While officials believe this is an “isolated incident,” they describe the attack as “serious” and warn others not to use the park at night.

In addition, Greater Manchester Police is asking the public and all witnesses for help in finding the perpetrator.

The investigation team says it is looking for the identity of a “male perpetrator.”

DS Brereton said: “Although we believe this is an isolated incident, we advise everyone to avoid the car park area at night.

“Our officers have increased patrols in the area and are at your side.

“Don’t be alarmed if you see other officers near you – feel free to speak to them if you have any questions.

“Our investigations are progressing and we are now asking everyone to come forward and assist us in our investigations – no information is too small for us.”
