CHANNAHON — For the second year in a row, a Joliet-area child will compete in the USA National Mullet Contest. Last year, thousands of Joliet Patch readers followed our story about Joliet resident Melissa Meyers’ 2-year-old son Damien doing his best at the USA Mullet Championships.

On Wednesday afternoon, Joliet Patch was notified of Channahon parents Jasmine Aron that their son Axell is now participating in this year’s USA National Mullet Contest.

Jasmine Aron said they are trying to raise money for Jared Allen’s Wounded Home. “Vote for our little man who is 2 years old,” she asked.

“We grew our son’s hair out to enter the USA National Mullet Contest. The Mullet Contest is a nationwide contest that helps raise money for Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Soldiers. 100 percent of donations go to Wounded Warriors to help our wounded veterans,” Jasmine Aron explained in her email to the editor of Joliet Patch.

“Any donation, big or small, would have a huge impact,” his mother wrote.

If you would like to vote for Axell Aron to win the USA National Mullet Contest, visit his bio on the contest website.

The little boy from Channahon recently turned 2 years old.

As for his mullet hairstyle, “My mullet hairstyle is pretty cool and my hairdresser does patterns in it. We named my mullet hairstyle THE AXE since it is the same shape as my mullet hairstyle. I love shaking my head and letting it fall and I can’t wait to see how long we can grow it out,” his bio reads.
