Spire Motorsports’ Corey LaJoie has refused to apologize following an incident with Kyle Busch at Pocono Raceway.

LaJoie’s No. 7 Chevrolet made contact with Busch’s No. 8 Chevy while attempting to enter Turn 1 during the final stage of the Great American Getaway 400.

The collision sent Busch sliding through the grass and into traffic, where he also pulled AJ Allmendinger, Harrison Burton, Ryan Preece and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. with him in the collision.

Although a place in the playoffs was becoming increasingly unattainable, Busch dismissed the collision as a racing accident.

LaJoie talks about the bush incident

LaJoie also saw no harm in the incident and refused to apologize to Busch.

“No, you have to run,” said LaJoie.

“You know, I don’t want to… I’m not the guy that wants to take anybody down, but I think if Kyle just blocks once, we’ll both turn the corner and live to fight another day.

“But that second block, where he thought he had everything under control and he didn’t, was the deciding factor for him and some of the other guys.

“But man, it’s really hard. It’s so damn hard to get 19th. I mean, that’s all I have, tongue hanging out, so you have to be perfect.”

Corey LaJoie admitted he was “not sorry” for the incident with Kyle Busch (above)

When asked if he wanted to say something to Busch, the 32-year-old refused to apologize.

“I think Kyle and I have been running around each other long enough, we’re not going to intentionally collide,” LaJoie added.

“We’re both guys who feel like we belong, he certainly does, but I mean, I’m not going to apologize. I’m not sorry, because that’s what it was about.

“If the tables had been turned, exactly the same thing would have happened, and I think he would probably say that too.”
