1 dead after semi-trailer truck rolls over on I-80 at Kedzie Avenue

According to the Illinois State Police, one person was killed Tuesday morning when a semi-trailer truck overturned on Interstate 80 near Kedzie Avenue in Hazel Crest.

At about 4:30 a.m., the eastbound semi-truck plunged down an embankment and left the roadway, overturning onto Kedzie Avenue, police said Tuesday morning. State police responded and pronounced the driver dead.

Police said one eastbound lane on I-80 was closed and Kedzie Avenue remained closed Tuesday morning.

The police are investigating, but no further information was initially available.
