Buffalo Bills Announce Chris Brown as New Voice of the Team

Buffalo, New York (WGR 550) – The Buffalo Bills and Audacy announced Tuesday morning that Chris Brown will become the new full-time voice of the Buffalo Bills beginning in the 2024-25 season.

Brown has been with the Bills since 2006 and becomes just the team’s third full-time play-by-play announcer in franchise history. He served as the team’s interim play-by-play announcer starting in January 2023 and has called 24 games during that span, 18 regular-season games and four postseason games.

Brown joined Joe DiBiase on the “Jeremy and Joe Show” Tuesday morning to talk about his new role with the team. He talked about the experience and knowledge he gained from working with former Bills voice John Murphy.

“I think the biggest thing Murph taught me is to keep working. Just because you’re doing it doesn’t mean you’re here. It’s a constant skill that you have to hone and try to improve as you go along, nobody’s perfect.” Chris Brown said: “So there’s little things that you know, that you try to improve and that you’re hyper-aware of in the moment, that’s easier said than done with anything that goes on in a football game. There’s a lot of moving parts. You just do your best to master all of that so you can put on the best possible broadcast for all the Bills fans to enjoy.”

Brown also spoke about how he adopted Western New York as his home after moving there following college graduation. He explained that once he got here, this role was his ultimate goal.

“I moved to Buffalo almost 30 years ago to the day, July 14, 1994, fresh out of school and all that, and a lot of it was because I couldn’t get a job in radio on Long Island, where I’m from. So I’ve been here for over half my life and now I consider myself a Buffalonian. I married a Buffalo girl, both my kids were born here. I’ve been covering this team for almost 30 years now, but that was the end of the game.”
