Reading Police Department arrests and charges Saugus man with drunk driving

READING – Police Chief David Clark reports that Reading police have arrested a Saugus man and charged him with driving under the influence.

WILLIAM BOLANOS ZAMORA, 40 years old, from SAUGUSis accused:

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol
  • Negligent operation of a motor vehicle
  • Violation of road markings
  • Driving a motor vehicle without a driving license
  • Speeding

On Friday, July 12, at approximately 8:29 p.m., a Reading Police officer conducting traffic enforcement on Haverhill Street observed a white Ford Edge traveling southbound along Haverhill Street at a high rate of speed.

Officers entered the roadway and followed the vehicle. During this time, the vehicle was observed crossing marked lanes. Officers then activated their hazard lights and stopped the vehicle in the area of ​​Haverhill Street and Varney Circle.

An initial investigation revealed that the driver, identified as ACTIVE – 218222 – CALLE ZAMORA …was only driving the vehicle with a driving license. There were no other passengers in the car.

The officers also noticed a strong smell of alcohol emanating from the vehicle and ACTIVE – 218222 – CALLE ZAMORA … The officers conducted a sobriety test, which ACTIVE – 218222 – CALLE ZAMORA … could not be completed successfully. The police also found that ACTIVE – 218222 – CALLE ZAMORA …His blood alcohol level was 0.18, more than twice the legal limit.

ACTIVE – 218222 – CALLE ZAMORA … was arrested without incident and He is scheduled to be arraigned in Woburn District Court on Monday, July 15.
