Former Jericho Road employee arrested for alleged theft of $600,000

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — Officials at Jericho Road, a local health center, are angry and saddened after learning that a former employee was arrested for possible theft.

“I know him from the community,” said Dr. Myron Glick, founder and CEO of Jericho Road. “It’s personal, not only because of my role as the leader of Jericho, but because this family, in a way, grew up in Jericho.”

The health center also houses the Vive Shelter, which accommodates refugees and asylum seekers.

According to Jericho management, the alleged theft occurred in the last three months.

“Following an internal investigation, our team notified law enforcement and financial institutions of the alleged financial abuse. And today, one of our former employees was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigations,” Glick said.

The employee was hired in October last year.

“I mean, we’re still going to trust people, but it’s a good lesson to understand the world we live in and be cautious,” Glick said.

Although $600,000 is a lot of money, Glick says it will not impact her work and that all donations are safe.

They are now taking steps to ensure this cannot happen again.
