Two dead after leaving the vehicle and colliding with other cars

MURRAY, Utah – Two pedestrians died in a crash early Saturday morning after they were struck by two different vehicles after getting out of their car.

According to a press release from the Department of Public Safety, the Utah Highway Patrol was called to a crash at approximately 900 West on Interstate 215 at 3:54 a.m.

According to DPS, a woman “went into the right lane” after exiting a dark-colored SUV that had pulled onto the shoulder of the highway. The woman was then reportedly struck by a silver Kia Spectra.

After the woman was hit by the car, the driver of the dark SUV got out to help the woman. According to the press release, he was hit by a dark Volkswagen Tiguan.

According to DPS, the woman died at the scene of the accident and the man later died after being transported to a local hospital.
