Armed carjacking sparks manhunt in southeast DC

Washington, DC – A suspect is currently being sought in connection with an armed carjacking in Southeast Washington. The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 10, at approximately 7:35 p.m. in the 1400 block of Cedar Street.

A victim reported that two suspects approached him while he was riding his scooter. One of them was armed with a handgun. The armed suspect ordered the victim to get off the scooter. One of the suspects then sped off on the scooter while the other fled in a black car.

Nearby surveillance cameras captured images of one of the suspects. Police have released these photos and are asking the public for help in identifying the person.

  • Cell phone case thief wanted in northwest DC

    Washington, DC – Authorities are asking the public for help in identifying a suspect involved in a theft at a store on Columbia Road in Northwest.

    On Friday, July 5, the suspect entered a store in the 1700 block of Columbia Road, Northwest, at approximately 6:20 p.m. The subject entered the counter and stole cell phone cases.

    The suspect was captured by surveillance cameras.

  • Lucky day for New York lottery players in Albany and Rensselaer

    New York, NY – Big winnings were made in New York as the New York Lottery announced the winners of the July 10 TAKE 5 evening drawing. Two grand prize tickets, each valued at $16,585.50, were sold in Albany and Rensselaer.

    Campus Mobil on Western Avenue in Albany and Stewart’s Shops on Columbia Turnpike in Rensselaer are the locations where the lucky tickets were purchased. Each store sold one of the winning tickets to the delight of local customers.

    TAKE 5 draws take place twice a day, with numbers chosen from a pool of 1 to 39. Draws are broadcast at 2:30pm and 10:30pm. Winners have up to one year from the date of the draw to claim their prizes, giving lucky ticket holders plenty of time to come forward.

  • Suspect released after triple shooting in DC

    Washington, DC – Authorities are asking the public for help in identifying the suspect involved in a triple shooting in northeast Washington.

    On Sunday, June 30, at approximately 12:55 a.m., Sixth Precinct officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 6100 block of Banks Place, Northeast. Upon arrival, officers found three women suffering from gunshot wounds. All three victims were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene.
