Johnson paid a woman to perform sexually explicit acts with a young girl live on Snapchat in June 2022. He recorded the communication using a screen recording app and saved video recordings of approximately 10 minutes and 17 minutes on different days in June, court documents show.

After careful investigation, law enforcement authorities managed to locate the woman and child abroad. The victim was 5 years old and had been taken from the woman’s care, according to the Justice Department.

Johnson engaged in similar social media chats with other women who, at Johnson’s request, sexually assaulted individuals who appeared to be children in live video chats for Johnson to see. According to the Justice Department, he also engaged in online chats in which he discussed the possibility of meeting with other adults who had children so he could engage in sexually explicit conduct with their children.

Investigators discovered more than 24,000 files containing child sexual abuse material on Johnson’s hard drives. The Justice Department said the material included more than 500 files depicting bestiality, at least 400 files depicting violence or masochistic abuse, and more than 3,500 pornographic files depicting infants and young children.
