Visitation appointment for teenager in car accident in Barboursville

CABELL COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – A Cabell County community will honor the life of a young man killed in a car accident during a wake Monday night.

Braxton McComas, 17, was a rising senior at Cabell Midland High School. He was driving in Barboursville on July 4 when he was struck by another vehicle, according to police. Authorities say the driver of the vehicle that struck him was allegedly drunk.

Another teenager who was in the car with McComas was injured in the accident.

The driver of the second car, Joshua Wilson, remains hospitalized, according to Barboursville Police Chief Darren McNeil. Wilson is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, which caused the fatal crash.

Braxton’s wake will be held Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lewis Memorial Baptist Church in Huntington.
