Suspect jumps into water after police chase in Miami-Dade – NBC 6 South Florida

A suspect had to be rescued by officers after he jumped into a waterway following a police pursuit Thursday afternoon in Miami-Dade.

Aerial footage showed law enforcement officers, including Miami-Dade police and the Florida Highway Patrol, pursuing the suspect’s vehicle south on the Palmetto Expressway.

The vehicle eventually stopped near Northwest 25th Street in Doral, where the suspect jumped into the water.

Multiple officers were seen jumping into the water to pull the person out. The subject was handcuffed and taken to a police car.
