Five injured and one child killed in drone attack in Russia – Governor

Five people were injured and a child killed in a drone attack on the southwestern Russian region of Krasnodar, the region’s governor said on Friday.

“A six-year-old girl died of her injuries in hospital after a drone strike in Primorsko-Akhtarsk,” Venyamin Kondratyev said on Telegram.

He said five other people, including a child, were hospitalized.

The attack damaged a three-story residential building and evacuated its residents.

“The Kiev regime has made a new attempt to attack civilian objects on the territory of the region with drones,” Kondratiev added, saying that Russian air defense forces had shot down “several drones.”

A local power plant was also hit in the attack.

Ukraine has stepped up its attacks on Russian territory this year, targeting energy facilities it says supply the Russian military, as well as towns and villages near the border.
