YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) – An unseasonably strong dome of high pressure continues to strengthen and build across the desert Southwest, bringing intense heat over the next few days with temperatures expected to be 10 to 15 degrees above normal.

At the moment, the desert southwest is under a Weather agency FIRST WARNING to prepare ourselves for the big coming heat wave that is First warning PROMOTION DAYS Thursday Tuesday.

There is a risk of high to extreme heat, which, if we do not practice heat protection, can lead to heat-related illnesses.

A Excessive heat WARNING remains in force for parts of the desert in the southwest NOW until 8 p.m. TUESDAY.

Yuma County became a WARNING OF EXCESSIVE HEAT that will come into force Thursday 10:00 am – Tuesday 8:00 pm.

I am also following the record heat in terms of daily highs and lows over the next few days.

Some days will be closer than others, but it is certainly possible to reach or break new records.

Starting Friday and early next week, maximum temperatures will reach 120 degrees.

First Alert Action Days will bring hot afternoons and very warm nights for several days in a row, so the brutal heat will not take a break.
