Apparently a fireworks accident in Griffith, Indiana, leaves 7 injured and houses damaged in the 900 block of North Arbogast Street, police say

GRIFFITH, Ind. (WLS) – Seven people were injured and several homes and vehicles were damaged in a fireworks incident in northwest Indiana on Saturday night, police said.

Griffith police said officers were dispatched to the 900 block of North Arbogast Street around 9:30 p.m.

Apparently, a private fireworks display in a local residential building accidentally malfunctioned, injuring seven people and damaging four houses and ten vehicles, police said.

Information about the age and condition of the injured was not initially available.
