Sacramento police arrest man accused of murder in Oak Park shooting

(FOX40.COM) — Sacramento police said they arrested a 22-year-old man Thursday accused of killing a man in Oak Park nearly three weeks ago.

On June 2, just before 7 p.m., Sacramento Police were called to 33rd Street on reports of a shooting.


When officers arrived, a 53-year-old man was found with a life-threatening gunshot wound and taken to the hospital.

Hospital medical staff later said the man had succumbed to his injuries.

On June 20, police said, Floyd Smith was arrested after homicide detectives, with assistance from the agency’s SWAT team and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, learned of his involvement in the shooting.
