Geneva man arrested after hit-and-run with property damage – Finger Lakes Daily News

The investigation into a reported hit-and-run accident on Lake to Lake Road in the Town of Gorham led to the arrest of a Geneva man.

An investigation revealed that 26-year-old Matthew McCarthy was driving a 2019 GMC Sierra when he drove off the road and struck a car parked in the driveway of 2697 Lake to Lake Road. Officers found McCarthy on nearby Kearney Road, where his GMC had broken down due to the damage. Officers determined that McCarthy was intoxicated and subsequently arrested him.

Officers charged McCarthy with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or more (a previous conviction), and leaving the scene of an accident. McCarthy will appear in Gorham Town Court at a later date.
