Riverside County Sheriff’s deputy arrested, suspected of sexually assaulting volunteer – Press Enterprise

A Riverside County sheriff’s deputy suspected of sexually assaulting a sheriff’s department volunteer was arrested Saturday, June 21, authorities said.

The attack was reported Friday after the victim informed another deputy, who told his supervisor, the sheriff’s department said in a statement.

Deputy Alexander Vanny, 33, was arrested and faces charges including aggravated kidnapping, sexual assault by force or fear and forced oral sex, according to inmate records.

Vanny was hired by the Sheriff’s Department in 2016 and was most recently assigned to the Hemet Sheriff’s Station.

He was placed on unpaid administrative leave.
