Stella Creasy sends defiant message to the vandals who attacked her Walthamstow office

Labour MP Stella Creasy sent a defiant message to the vandals who attacked her constituency office, saying she would not be “intimidated” by them.

On X, formerly Twitter, the former shadow minister wrote: “A message to whoever attacked my office last night. You are not intimidating me and you have no place in the political process.”

“Just like those who distribute malicious and false leaflets. The police are already on the hunt for you – they will push for the strictest punishments for such an undemocratic attack and I know that Walthamstow will not be intimidated or swayed by your violence either.”

Ms Creasy also posted images of the attack on her office in Walthamstow, north-east London, where she hopes to retain her seat, which she has held since 2010, in the upcoming general election on July 4.

The photos showed that several holes had been smashed into a window and a glass door and that the glass was cracked.

This is not the first time Ms Creasy has been targeted.

Last year, it emerged that a man had made a vexatious complaint online, which led to her being subjected to an investigation by social services. Ms Creasy was reportedly subjected to a security check and quickly cleared.

The man, who had no connection to the Labour MP or her two children, disagreed with her stance against misogyny.

The Metropolitan Police said the Orford Road office in her constituency was the target of a raid between 3.10am and 3.30am.

Detective Superintendent Dion Brown, one of the senior officers responsible for policing in Waltham Forest, said: “It is completely unacceptable that the office of one of London’s prospective parliamentary candidates should be targeted in this way.”

“Urgent enquiries are ongoing. Officers are on site and are already pursuing active lines of enquiry, which will include a full analysis of all available CCTV footage.”

The other candidates in Walthamstow are: Imran Arshad of the Workers Party of Britain; Mohammed Ashfaq, Independent; Dan Edelstyn, Independent; Sanjana Madan Mohan Karnani, Conservative Party; Martin Lonergan, Reform UK; Ruth Theresa Rawlins, Independent; Rosalinda Ayo Rowlands, Green Party; Nancy Taaffe, Trade Union and Socialist Coalition; and Rebecca Taylor of the Liberal Democrats.
