Due to canal works, one lane on the Southern Ocean will be closed this week

From Monday through Wednesday, most lanes on South Ocean Boulevard will be closed for sewer maintenance, city officials said.

City Water Resources Department employees will perform maintenance on the sewer pressure lines at 20 locations along the stretch of road from 2100 S. Ocean Blvd. (Ibis Isle) to 300 S. Ocean (intersection with Royal Palm Way).

The one-hour closures will take place from Monday to Wednesday between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

The work will narrow South Ocean to one lane in the affected areas, so traffic officials will direct traffic during the maintenance work. Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling through the area and be alert for traffic officials and water management employees.
