Road closures to be aware of for the Juneteenth parade and festival

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — African-American heritage is being celebrated this weekend with Juneteenth festivities.

The parade is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15 at Genesee and Ivey streets and the festival will take place at MLK Jr. Park both days. As a result, the following roads will be closed.

8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday:

• Genesee Street, Bailey to Best
• Best Street in Genesee in Fillmore
• Fillmore Avenue, Genesee to East Utica

8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday:

• Fillmore Ave., through MLK Park, from Best to Northampton

Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
