Man injured in Oshkosh attack has died, police said

OSHKOSH (NBC 26) – A 56-year-old man who Oshkosh police say was the victim of an attack has died.

According to police, the victim died Monday evening at a local hospital. Police say his death was due to injuries sustained in the May 21 attack at the Wisconsin Resource Center. According to Wisconsin Health Services, the WRC is a mental health facility for state prisoners.

According to police, none of those involved were employees of the facility.

Police have filed charges against the 41-year-old suspect with first-degree premeditated murder.

According to the DHS website, the Wisconsin Resource Center is “a leader in developing innovative treatment methods for state prison inmates who require specialized mental health services. These services restore their ability to lead full and rewarding lives in the community.”
