Popular Marvel and DC YouTuber Ben “Comicstorian” Potter dies after accident

He died after an accident

Popular Marvel, DC and anime superfan and historian Ben Potter has died at the age of 40 following an “unfortunate accident.”

Ben Potter, or as he is known on YouTube, “Comicstorian,” is known for his extensive knowledge of the Marvel and DC universes, and maintains over three million subscribers with his in-depth videos and witty humor. Ben Potter also had over 60,000 followers on Twitter and over 12,000 followers on Twitch, which gives us just a small indication of how popular he was.

Ben Potter, born May 18, 1984, passed away this week on June 8, 2024, his wife Natalie Potter confirmed on Twitter. She asked her fans to respect her privacy and that of her family during this very difficult time. “Two days ago, June 8th, my husband Ben Potter passed away in an unfortunate accident,” she wrote.

“To many of you, he was a comics storyteller who told stories from many different media. To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most helpful people you could wish for.”

She continued, “As a husband, son, brother, friend, or even just a stranger, Ben was loving and genuine. He was someone who listened and made time for his loved ones. He did his best to make everyone laugh and make sure they were OK. He was our rock and reassured his loved ones whenever they needed it.”

“He was my everything and I needed time with friends and family. I have so many things to sort out, but first I need to grieve. I ask that you respect my privacy and that of everyone else. Right now, my priority is to preserve everything he built and I have no plans beyond that.”

Natalie Potter went on to say that while she will need time to grieve, she knows her husband’s YouTube channel and social media accounts, which he has worked to build for over a decade, are not something he wants to end “this way.”

Over time, they will join Ben Potter’s team in honoring his life by supporting his channels like YouTube, telling “great stories from great people and keeping the memory of our very own superhero” alive for his millions of followers.

“We supported each other in everything we wanted to do and I have no plans to stop now,” she concluded. GAMINGbible sends our condolences to Ben Potter’s family, friends and fans.
