Minor girl raped by teenage neighbour in South Delhi

New Delhi, June 10 (SocialNews.XYZ) A seven-year-old girl was allegedly sexually abused by her neighbour in south Delhi, an official said on Monday, adding that the 16-year-old accused has been arrested.

Police on Sunday provided details that the police control room received a distress call regarding a sexual assault on a minor girl at the Lodhi Colony police station, following which a police team rushed to the scene.

When we reached the scene, we found the victim, a resident of Meharchand market, along with her grandmother.

“The girl’s mother reported that she was sexually harassed by her neighbour in his house three to four days ago. He is also a minor,” said a senior police officer.

Based on the statement of the complainant, a case under Section 376-AB of the Indian Penal Code and 6 POCSO Act was registered at the Lodhi Colony police station.

“The youth was arrested and taken to an observation home. Further investigation is ongoing,” the official added.
