Teenager arrested for raping seven-year-old girl in South Delhi

Crime in Delhi: A serious incident was reported from the capital in which a teenager was arrested for allegedly raping and abusing a seven-year-old girl from her neighbourhood in south Delhi, authorities said on Monday.

The information about the incident was received by the Lodhi Colony police station on Sunday, it said.

The victim’s mother told police that her daughter had been sexually abused in his home about three to four days ago by a 16-year-old boy from her neighborhood, police said.

The girl was taken for a medical examination and an FIR was registered under Section 376 AB (rape of a woman below 12 years of age) of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), it said.

“We have arrested the youth and taken him to an observation home. Further investigations are ongoing,” said a police officer.
