First weather warning: Yellow warning until early Sunday evening

ROCHESTER, NY — The chance of a severe storm is very low for Western New York, but occasional downpours and lightning are likely over the next few hours. Additionally, these downpours may cause significant puddles on the roads, so localized flooding is possible. No widespread flooding is expected, but News 10NBC First Alert meteorologists will continue to monitor conditions. Because of this, we have issued a yellow warning for a short period of time due to these storms. We expect the storms to move south and east early Sunday evening. We expect the yellow warning to be lifted around 8 p.m. Sunday.

A cold front will move across the region Sunday night, bringing very cool weather for Monday. Temperatures will be about 10 to 15 degrees below normal, only reaching values between 10 and 15 degrees. The last time we had a day this cool was four weeks ago on May 12. Expect mostly cloudy skies on Monday, with the possibility of a few drops or an isolated light shower. After that, the weather will improve. Tuesday will see a mix of clouds and sun, with temperatures just under 18 degrees. On Wednesday, you can expect more sunshine and warmer weather, with the mercury then rising to just under 25 degrees.
