Washington – Due to the conflict in the Gaza Strip, Colombian President Gustavo Petro announced on Saturday that his country would no longer export coal to Israel.The price is right

This move comes against the backdrop of deteriorating relations between the two formerly close military and trading partners.

Coal deliveries will only resume “when the genocide” in Gaza ends, Petro said in a post on the social media website X.

In addition, Petro presented a draft directive stating that coal exports could only resume if Israel complied with the recent International Court of Justice ruling requiring Israel to withdraw its troops from the Gaza Strip.
