Wildfire destroys 25 to 30 acres in Pasco, cause under investigation | News

PASCO, Wash. – A wildfire in Sacajawea Park in Pasco has burned 25 to 30 acres of land, according to the Pasco Fire Department.

Assistant Fire Chief Chris Mortensen said no one was injured and no structures were threatened. The cause remains under investigation and the fire is now under control, although emergency crews may remain in the area for several days.

Campers in the park were told to evacuate, but no further major evacuations were ordered.

Mortensen says the department received mutual aid from Franklin County Fire District 3. Tank Farm Road was initially closed by emergency crews but has since reopened.
