3 murder suspects arrested on the same day for 2 shootings in Clayton County

The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of three people wanted in connection with two separate murders.

On February 2, Clayton County Police responded to a shooting at a Family Dollar store at 5425 Riverdale.

When officers arrived, they found a person lying on the ground who had been shot. Investigators, led by Police Chief Kevin Roberts, identified Montevious Garrison as the suspect. Warrants were issued for Garrison’s arrest, including charges of murder during the commission of a felony, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and reckless conduct.

Chief Roberts placed Garrison at the top of the county’s wanted list and activated the elite Fugitive Criminal Unit. The unit, with assistance from the Newnan Police Department, was able to arrest Garrison without incident in Newnan on June 6. Garrison is currently being held in the Coweta County Jail on local charges and will be transferred to Clayton County for further proceedings.

On April 30, Clayton County Police responded to a call about a shooting in Riverdale. Officers discovered an open door in the apartment and found a victim with gunshot wounds and a lot of blood on the kitchen walls and floor. The investigation led to the identification of Saisha Gibson and Jason Jefferson as suspects. Warrants were obtained for their arrests, charging them with murder, aggravated assault and burglary.

Gibson and Jefferson were subsequently placed on the county’s wanted list. With the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Service South Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF) and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, they were located and arrested at a friend’s home in DeKalb County on June 6. Both suspects are now in custody at the Clayton County Jail awaiting their court dates.
