OK lawmakers want to investigate Ryan Walters’ senior adviser

BACK TONIGHT. YES. RYAN WALTERS HAS TARGETED STATE REPRESENTATIVE MARK MCBRIDE OF MOORE DIRECTLY. HE REQUESTED THIS INVESTIGATION. HE ACCUSES MCBRIDE OF WANTING A VENGEANCE AGAINST HIS AGENCY. MCBRIDE IS JUST A pawn for the TEACHERS’ UNIONS AND THE DEMOCRATS. HE JUST GOES OUT AND REPEATS WHAT THEY TELL HIM. IF I WERE THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, I WOULD SAY, HEY, GREAT, COME AND INVESTIGATE ME BECAUSE WE DID NOTHING WRONG. BUT INSTEAD WE GET COMPLAINTS AND THINGS LIKE THAT. STATE LEADER RYAN WALTERS AND STATE REPRESENTATIVE MARK MCBRIDE ARE ONCE AGAIN AT DISagreement. ON WEDNESDAY, A GROUP OF REPUBLICANS IN THE HOUSE, LEAD BY MCBRIDE, CALLED ON THE ATTORNEY GENERAL TO INVESTIGATE WALTERS’ LEAD COUNSELOR MATT LANGSTON. MCBRIDE SAYS LANGSTON GETS SIX FIGURES FOR A PART-TIME JOB, FAR MORE THAN OTHER PART-TIME WORKERS IN THE STATE EARN WHO DON’T SHOW UP TO WORK AND GET FULL-TIME PAY. I MEAN, WHAT OTHER PERSON IN OKLAHOMA HAS A JOB LIKE THAT? WHAT IS HIS DAILY WORK? EVERYTHING WE DO GOES THROUGH OUR SENIOR TEAM. SO OUR SENIOR TEAM IS CONSTANTLY DEVELOPING WAYS TO IMPROVE STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT. THAT’S ABOUT READING AND TEACHER RECRUITMENT, THAT’S ABOUT TEACHER RECRUITMENT, THAT’S ABOUT MAKING SURE OUR SCHOOLS HAVE THE BEST CURRICULUM AVAILABLE WHEN IT COMES TO PROTECTING PARENTAL RIGHTS, AND THAT’S FIRST FROM A CAMPAIGN PERSPECTIVE, SURE. BUT THE MONEY THAT THEY’RE PAYING TODAY, IT CAN BE HONESTLY SAY THAT IT ALL GOES TO PROMOTE THE INTERESTS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION. YES, AND THERE WAS NEVER A SERIOUS ALLEGATION THAT THAT WASN’T THE CASE. THIS IS A TOTALLY STATE AND, UM, ATTACK FROM MARK MCBRIDE. OF ALL THE AGENCIES UNDER MY COMMITTEE, I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH ME SHARING INFORMATION EXCEPT THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION. AND THAT HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE THE DAY HE WAS ELECTED. AND MCBRIDE SAYS HE’S STILL WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM THE AG’S OFFICE TO SEE IF THEY WILL CONDUCT AN INVESTIGATION INTO MATT LANGSTON. WE KNOW, HOWEVER, THAT AG DRUMMOND WILL NOT CONDUCT A WHOLE DEPARTMENT INVESTIGATION THAT WAS DEMANDED LAST WEEK BY HOUSE DEMOCRATS, LIV REPORTS
