Porsche crash in Pune: Teenager’s father, grandfather arrested in separate suicide case | Mumbai News

Pune police have booked the father and grandfather of the minor boy involved in the Porsche accident on May 19 and three others in a separate case for abetment to suicide, news agency ANI reported on Thursday.

DS Kature, a builder from Vadgaon Sheri, filed the complaint against Vinay Kale, from whom his son Shashikant Kature had borrowed money. As Shashikant could not repay the loan, he was harassed by Kale, who increased the interest, leading to Shashikant’s suicide in January. Initially, Kale was charged under sections 306 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.

Further investigations incriminated the youth’s father, grandfather and three other persons, so that the case was amended to include sections 420 and 34 of the International Penal Code (IPC).

Father, grandfather, mother already in prison

The grandfather is already in prison for kidnapping and wrongfully imprisoning the family driver. The driver was forced to accept responsibility for the fatal accident. The father and mother are also in prison for exchanging blood samples from the teenager.

In the accident in Kalyani Nagar, two IT professionals were killed when the Porsche, allegedly driven by the minor, collided with their two-wheeler.

On Thursday, the grandfather filed a petition in the Bombay High Court accusing him of wrongful detention and false accusations in the kidnapping case.

The petition filed by his lawyer states that the driver decided to stay with the plaintiff after his release from police custody for safety reasons. The driver’s complaint is “fabricated and false,” the petition states. The plaintiff will be released and must take action against the police.
