According to police, on the evening of June 1, at approximately 9:54 p.m., while police officers were busy dispersing a crowd at Urge Fitness, across from the Gloucester Township Day Festivities on Chews Landing Road, that individual refused to comply with police commands and allegedly struck an officer during the altercation.

Police officials said the alleged attacker punched the officer “several times before he was sprayed with pepper spray” and fled into the crowd.
