3 reasons why the Atlanta Braves won’t make a trade anytime soon

After losing Spencer Strider and most recently Ronald Acuna Jr. for the season, the Atlanta Braves are going to look a lot different for the remainder of 2024. Losing one superstar is hard enough to get back, but losing two is tragic.

It’s no secret that the Braves have high expectations of themselves, even after losing two of their best players to injury. Many people are calling on Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos to take action to compensate for the loss of Acuna and Strider. While it’s likely that AA has something up its sleeve, there are three big reasons why fans shouldn’t anticipate blockbusters anytime soon.

As it stands, the Atlanta Braves are 31-23 and 6.5 games in the NL East. Being less than 7 games behind the red-hot Phillies seems like an accomplishment in itself right now with all the bad breaks the Braves are facing.

With 54 games behind, that also means there are 108 games left in the regular season and just over two months until the trade deadline. A lot can happen in the MLB during this period.

There are so many teams in the league right now that don’t know if they will be buyers or sellers before the trade deadline. AA will likely hold out until there is at least a better idea of which high-caliber players are available and appear to be the best fit for Atlanta. As difficult as it may be, Anthopoulos must be trusted and fans must be patient.
