Beverly

Tuesday

A witness reported seeing a bicyclist fall off his bike at the intersection of Lovett and Ives streets at 6:55 p.m. Police said the bicyclist apparently got his jacket caught in the spokes. He was not wearing a helmet or identification but was later identified as a 36-year-old local resident. He was taken to Beverly Hospital with minor injuries and his bike was left in the station’s sallyport for safekeeping.

Wednesday

At 2:07 a.m. at the intersection of Park and Pleasant Streets, a man flagged down a patrol car and asked to be taken to the hospital. He was taken by ambulance to Salem Hospital.

At 10:55 a.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of Cabot and Myrtle Streets to check on a broken down green pickup truck. The dispatcher was first on the scene and found the vehicle with a broken right front tire and axle. The driver had exited the truck and was not suffering from any medical issues or signs of impairment from drugs or alcohol. A check of his records revealed only traffic violations and a search of the vehicle revealed nothing of value. It was towed from New Beverly.

The general manager of a building on Park Street reported chalk graffiti on the brick wall of the depot. The names Brenda, “Donalad” and Kristen were written on the building along with other barely legible writing. The officer spoke to the homeless group across the street and asked who was responsible. One of the men, whose name was not on the wall, claimed responsibility, but it could have been one of the women. The officer told them to wash the graffiti off immediately and if this happens again they will be charged with vandalism/tagging. The officer observed the man while he removed the chalk.

An officer went to 490 Rantoul St. at 2:02 p.m. to take a report of harassment by a tenant. The tenant said he gave the landlord two weeks’ notice that he was moving out and the landlord then told him to move out immediately. The tenant said he has a long history of problems with the landlord and is moving out as a result. He was counseled on how to proceed in Salem District Court regarding the civil aspects and also how to proceed with obtaining a harassment injunction.

At 5:34 p.m., an officer came across a minor car accident. The officer said he closely examined the rear bumper of the vehicle and found that there was no damage whatsoever and that the driver was clearly lying. He advised her that the other driver could use this story as proof that there was no damage if she wanted to file a claim.

Fire and EMS were dispatched to Cabot Street at 7:27 p.m. to a person with an injured leg. The woman said she fell and scraped her shin on some rocks on the beach. When she saw the blood, she fainted. Friends helped her to her feet and she was able to walk from the beach to EMS and fire, who examined her. She refused medical treatment.

Thursday

Police responded to the intersection of Cabot and Federal Streets at 1:05 a.m. for a disturbance. A 49-year-old Beverly woman was arrested and charged with assault on a family or household member.

At 6:06 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the intersection of Church and Cabot Streets to check on the woman’s health following a possible assault. The officer accompanied her in the ambulance and took her to Beverly Hospital.

Thursday

A caller reported that she went to check on her mother’s apartment at 12:42 p.m. and found the door unlocked, with lights and the television on inside. No one should have been there at that time. Officers checked the apartment and everything was fine, there were no signs of forced entry, it appeared the television had simply been left on.

IStorage, 137 Summit St., reported a trailer stolen at 2:15 p.m.

A Hamerick Road woman called police at 6:40 p.m. to report that her father, who may have been having memory problems, left home in a Green Cab at 9:30 a.m. and did not return. The cab took him to Apollo Travel in Cambridge, the daughter said, but they told her he had no airline tickets booked and left around 12:30-1 p.m., direction of travel unknown. The daughter left a voicemail on his cellphone after getting no response. T-Mobile attempted to ping the phone. Her father was last seen wearing a green hat, brown plaid shirt and green or brown pants. He was carrying a brown suitcase, a pink suitcase and a duffel bag. T-Mobile said it pinged the phone at Logan Airport, giving coordinates within a 970-foot radius. Mass. State Police Troop F in Logan was notified to attempt to contact the father and call his daughter. His picture was sent to Sgt. Maguire at Troop F Barracks.

Friday

A woman called police at 2:32 a.m. from Independent Electric Supply, 34 Railroad Ave., to report that she had put down her purse to get something and the suspect picked it up and fled toward Dunkin’ Donuts. The suspect was described as a white female with dark hair with blonde highlights, possible facial piercings, blue eyes and wearing a dark sweatshirt.

Police stopped a vehicle at the Knights of Columbus, 96 Main St., and after a brief investigation arrested the driver, a 44-year-old Peabody man. He was charged with driving while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs and possession of Class B drugs.

A caller left a voicemail with animal control complaining that his neighbor lets his dogs run loose in the neighborhood. The neighbor of 9 Oran Circle was sent a copy of the leash order, a license application, and a warning for the off-leash and possibly unvaccinated/unlicensed dogs. There was no history of dogs at this address.

At 10:11 a.m. an ambulance was dispatched to New England Orthopedics, 4 Centennial Drive, to pick up a patient who was unable to move his legs.

At 8:20 p.m., two officers were dispatched to a location on Pond Street to investigate a complaint.

At 8:32 a.m. an officer was called to an address on Russell Street to a report of a theft, forgery or fraud.

Police, fire and ambulance were dispatched to the intersection of Ocean and Atlantic Avenues at 1:29 p.m. for a car accident.

At 2:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to Garden Road and at 3:04 p.m. to Atlantic Avenue to report separate incidents of theft, forgery or fraud.

At 4:06 p.m. an officer was dispatched to Heritage Way for a charge of theft, forgery or fraud.

A report of a general complaint brought police to Broughton Road at 8.10pm

Salem

Wednesday

An officer was dispatched to Leach Street at 4:55 p.m. and another to 55 Summit Street at 5:49 p.m. to report various fraud or scam cases.

At 6:42 p.m., police were dispatched to 39 Upham Street to break up a disturbance. After a brief investigation, they arrested a 67-year-old Salem man on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

The report of a theft brought officers to 13 Read St. at 7:30 p.m.

Additionally, at 7:30 p.m., police took a report of a stolen or missing license plate for a motor vehicle located at 63 Jefferson Avenue.

At 8:37 p.m. police were dispatched to 41 Bridge Street to handle a case involving a juvenile.

At 10:53 p.m. a missing juvenile was reported from 85 Valley St.

At 11:33 p.m. a theft was reported from 52 Northey St.

Thursday

At 12:01 a.m., officers were called to 4 Colonial Terrace to break up a fight.

At 7:50 a.m., the police went to Lindenstrasse 106 to break up another dispute.

At 8:04 a.m., officers were dispatched to 190 Bridge Street for a report of a car crash involving an airbag deployment and possible injuries.

The report of a fraud or scam brought the police to Pickman Road at 11:36 a.m.

At 12:56 a.m., police arrested one person on School Street, but no further information was provided.

At 1:20 p.m., officers were called to the Home Depot, 50 Traders Way, for a theft.

At 3:31 p.m., police responded to a report of a dispute near the intersection of North and Mason Street.

A report of a suspicious object prompted police to the area of ​​170 North St. at 5:08 p.m. No incident was reported.

Police were called to an address on Cedarcrest Avenue at 5:11 p.m. regarding a juvenile problem.

At 5:12 p.m., police arrested a man near 211 Washington St. After a brief investigation, they arrested the 62-year-old Salem man and charged him with violating a city ordinance or bylaw.

At 7:28 p.m. an officer was dispatched to North Street to handle a juvenile case.

Friday

Police were called to 211 Washington Street at 7 a.m. for a theft.

At 8:54 a.m., reports of a disturbance led police to 75 Boston Street.

At 9:11 a.m., officers were called to 1000 Loring Avenue to break up a fight.

Police were called to 1000 Loring Avenue at 9:16 a.m. for a previous assault.

The report of a theft brought police to Salem Hospital, 81 Highland Ave., at 9:27 a.m.
