Driver arrested after collision with two people on I-5, one dead – KIRO 7 News Seattle

NEAR RIDGEFIELD, Wash. — A driver was arrested on a charge of negligent homicide after striking two pedestrians, killing one of them, on Interstate 5 near Ridgefield in Clark County Friday night.

The accident occurred on Friday evening shortly before 10:30 p.m.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the driver was traveling north when he collided with a broken-down vehicle, lost control and struck two people on the shoulder.

A 42-year-old woman was killed and a 39-year-old man was injured. Both are from Vader, WA.

WSP stated that the cause of the accident was that an emergency vehicle was not given the right of way.

The 44-year-old driver was not injured.
