Driver arrested after chase through several counties in Mississippi

YAZOO COUNTY, Mississippi (WJTV) – A suspect was arrested after a chase through several counties in Mississippi.

Yazoo County Sheriff Jeremy McCoy said officers observed a driver speeding toward Highway 49 South in a white Dodge pickup truck on Thursday, May 23. When officers attempted to stop the driver, he fled.


During the chase, McCoy said, the driver tried to force the officers off the road. One of them ended up in the median.

The pursuit first went through Madison County and then through Hinds County. McCoy said the suspect exited the vehicle in Edwards and was arrested. The sheriff said the unidentified man admitted to throwing drugs out the window of the vehicle and using meth.
