Ruston Police Investigate Domestic Incident – ​​Lincoln Parish Journal

A Ruston man was arrested after allegedly beating and strangling a woman on Tuesday afternoon.

Rodriquez J. Brantley, 44, was arrested for domestic violence with strangulation and child endangerment.

A woman told officers she kicked Brantley out of her apartment because he threatened to slap her during a verbal altercation. She said Brantley returned to the apartment, repeatedly punched her in the face and put her in a chokehold, causing her to have trouble breathing.


The woman provided a video of the altercation. She said her son and another young child were in the house during the incident.

Brantley had left the scene before police arrived, but was found and arrested.

Because this was a domestic violence case, Brantley’s bail had not been set at the time of publication.
