NYPD: New York teenager fights attempted rapist who put her in a headlock

THE BRONX, NY (PIX11) – The NYPD has released a sketch of a suspect who allegedly attempted to rape a 15-year-old girl who was walking in Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx on Saturday night, police said.

Police from the 45th Precinct responded to a call reporting the attempted rape around 5 p.m. The teen was walking on a path when an unknown assailant attempted to engage her in conversation, police said. The assailant then put the teen in a headlock, dragged her into a wooded area and attempted to rape her, police said.


The teenager was able to fend off the attacker, police said.

The victim suffered minor injuries in the attack but refused medical attention at the scene, authorities said.

The attacker is described as a man estimated to be between 20 and 30 years old. He has a slim build, a mustache, curled eyelashes and thick eyebrows, authorities said. He was last seen wearing a green hoodie and black sweatpants, police said.
