Atlanta MARTA Airport Station Reopening Date

ATLANTA — After six weeks of closure for renovations, the MARTA airport station reopens Monday, signaling a sigh of relief for Atlanta commuters.

The renovation project began on April 8 and included work on the concourse and platform areas, including the installation of new flooring, new lighting and infrastructure for a new elevator.

MARTA officials said closing that area helped cut construction time by 17 months.

In recent weeks, those traveling to the airport via MARTA have had to take shuttle buses between the College Park station and Hartsfield-Jackson.

Below is a preview of what the updated station looks like. 11Alive will continue to update this story with images of what the completed project looks like.
