5 DUIs, 3 retail thefts reported by Newtown Township Police

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between May 3 and May 8:

May 3rd

  • Around 3:30 p.m., police received a report of a theft from a home in Newtown Township. The investigation is currently ongoing.
  • At approximately 6:45 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of ​​Newtown Bypass and Buck Road for a report of a hit-and-run accident. As a result of the investigation, the fleeing vehicle was located and identified. While speaking with the driver, the officer smelled alcohol. The driver was unable to satisfactorily complete the field sobriety test and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending the results of the blood tests.
  • At approximately 10 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop in the area of ​​Stoopville Road and Millstone Drive on a Chevy pickup truck driver who had committed a vehicle code violation. During the course of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and confiscated as evidence and the driver was arrested.

May 4th

While speaking with the driver, the officer smelled alcohol. The driver was unable to satisfactorily complete the field sobriety test and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending the results of the blood tests.

May 6th

  • Around 4 p.m., police received a report of a retail theft at Lululemon. The investigation is ongoing.

May 7th

  • At approximately 2:15 p.m., police were dispatched to Ulta Beauty in reference to a retail theft. The investigation is ongoing.

8th of May

  • At approximately 1:45 p.m., police received a report of a retail theft at Lululemon. The investigation is ongoing.
