Steve Buscemi is the latest celebrity to be randomly attacked on the streets of New York

New York native Steve Buscemi is the latest celebrity to fall victim to a random attack on the streets of New York City.

Buscemi, 66, was reportedly walking in the Kips Bay neighborhood on Manhattan’s east side last week when a man came up to him and hit him, according to New York Post reports.

The attack in broad daylight is just one of the high-profile incidents that have occurred in recent years. Comic actor Rick Moranis, Michael Stuhlbarg (who appeared on the show). Boardwalk Empire with Buscemi) and reality star Bethenny Frankel are also among the victims.

Buscemi had a swollen left eye and face from his attack and was taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment.

His attacker fled and is still being sought.

“Steve Buscemi was attacked in Mid-Town Manhattan, another victim of random violence in the city,” Buscemi’s publicist said in a statement to The Post.

“He is doing well and appreciates everyone’s well wishes, although he is incredibly sad for everyone that this happened while he was also walking the streets of New York.”

According to police, the random attack occurred around 11:48 a.m. Wednesday in front of 369 Third Ave.

Buscemi has had a celebrated career. He has appeared in the films Fargo And Reservoir Dogs, and in the TV series The sopranos And Curb your enthusiasmamong many others.
