Lawyer claims ‘insanity’ for Middlefield man accused of raping four children

An attorney has entered a not guilty by reason of insanity plea on behalf of a 22-year-old Middlefield man who was secretly charged with alleged sex crimes against four children.

Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Andrew Logan set bail at $250,000 for Michael Miller, who was arrested Friday on three counts of rape and six counts of gross sexual assault.

According to investigators, the alleged victims are between three and seven years old.

A competency hearing for Miller is scheduled for June 11.
