Woman shot dead in Lafayette Parish | Crime/Police

A woman was shot and killed in Lafayette Parish Thursday evening, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office said.

Officers responded to the 100 block of Rendezvous Road around 7:30 p.m. following reports of a shooting and found 31-year-old Alexis Notto dead at the scene. Jaquell Carter, 29, was arrested for second-degree murder in Notto’s death, LPSO Public Information Officer Valerie Ponseti said in a statement.
