The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office said 10 people were arrested during the 2024 Stanislaus County Fair for violating the requirements of their sex offender registry.

(FOX40.COM) — The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that 10 people were arrested for violating the rules that apply to them as registered sex offenders in connection with this year’s edition of the county fair.

The agency said the Special Victims Unit worked during the July 5-14 fair to ensure offenders’ compliance, including by deploying undercover officers at the event.

Ten people were arrested within ten days, six of them at the fairgrounds, the sheriff’s office said.

The agency said one arrest involved a suspect who allegedly attempted to meet a teenage girl at the fair “for illegal activities.”

The sheriff’s office released several photos of its team at the fair, including a photo of the arrest of one of the suspects.
