State police say shots were fired in a driving aggression incident on I-80 in the Poconos

In what police describe as a road rage incident, shots were fired on Interstate 80 in the Poconos Saturday night.

Pennsylvania State Police in Stroudsburg said the incident occurred shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday at Exit 305.4 in Stroud Township. Two cars collided, passengers exited the vehicles and shots were fired, police said.

No injuries were reported. After the shooting, investigators closed part of the highway for several hours on Saturday.

Anthony Petroski, spokesman for the Pennsylvania State Police Troop N, told lehighvalleylive.com Monday morning that the investigation remains very active. The Pennsylvania State Police Troop N Major Case Team is investigating.

“Up-to-date information is being provided so as not to compromise the integrity of the investigation,” the state police said in a press release.
