63-year-old cyclist hit and killed by car after running stop sign in southeast Atlanta – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — A man is dead after a crash in southeast Atlanta Sunday afternoon.

On Sunday at 3:30 p.m., Atlanta police officers responded to the intersection of Martin Street Southeast and Ormond Street Southeast regarding a report of a bicyclist who had been struck by a car.

Police arrived at the scene and found a 63-year-old cyclist who was unconscious but appeared to be breathing.

He was taken to hospital where he later died.

Investigators said the man was driving down Martin Street and ran a stop sign at the intersection when he collided with a car driving down Ormond Street.

He was then thrown from his bike onto the road.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
