Motorcycle accident claims one life

FREDERICA, Delaware – Delaware State Police are investigating after a motorcycle crash left one person dead Saturday.

According to police, at 2:41 p.m. a Kawasaki motorcycle approached Frederica Road and headed south on Bay Road.

Initial investigations revealed that the motorcycle was traveling at high speed at exit 86 and did not negotiate the curve properly. The driver lost control and was thrown from the motorcycle.

The driver, a 36-year-old Felton man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his family.

Frederica Road was closed for over two hours while police investigated and cleared the scene. The Delaware State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit’s investigation is ongoing.
