Buffalo Bills’ Most Important Players in 2024

The Buffalo Bills enter the 2024 season with key losses to their offense.

Josh Allen, who has plenty of weapons in the past, has always been considered a turnover machine for his team.

Allen committed 22 turnovers in 2023.

Now there is one position that will be radically different and impact Allen next season.

New faces could decide how far the Bills go in 2024.

The wide receiver position will be radically different

The biggest change for the team is at receiver, notably with the losses of Gabe Davis and Stefon Diggs.

Bills management knew they needed a receiver to fill those gaps, but now the position looks dramatically different than it did in 2023.

There has been speculation that Michael Thomas will join the team after a successful stint in New Orleans.

Bills address need at position in NFL draft

Bills fans have a lot to be excited about with their new young receiver, Keon Coleman. Coleman comes from Florida State and was selected 33rd overall in the NFL Draft. At the NFL Combine, Coleman had a speed of 20.4, which should impress management.

General manager Brandon Beane stressed the need to keep the team in the thick of things without overreacting by being “down to one piece.”

Bills general manager Brandon Beane:

“I feel like the way the offense is set up, the pieces we have already, let’s add to them and make sure we have depth in other areas because we all know you have years where you get hurt and if you don’t have viable pieces ready to go, it doesn’t matter what you’ve done.”

Veteran wideouts sign with Bills

The Bills also signed former Washington receiver Curtis Samuel to a three-year contract.

His best year with Washington came in 2022, where he caught 64 balls for 656 receiving yards and 4 receiving touchdowns. He also added 187 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Samuel is showing that he can be a reliable asset through the air and on the ground. He shares a veteran presence with a group of young guys at his position.

The Bills also got another player this offseason: Marquez Valdes-Scantling from Kansas City. MVS has been a deep threat and will be a great fit for Allen if he’s looking to hit a home run.

Some fans might argue that Boise State’s third-year prospect Khalil Shakir needs to improve the most. He saw a lot more playing time in his sophomore campaign, gaining 611 yards through the air. Shakir is a proven sprinter who can be used for a variety of short-route concepts such as screens.

Tight end depth is valuable

This team’s tight end group is equally valuable to include in this conversation. Dawson Knox has been consistent at his position over the past three seasons. The Bills may have the best tight end depth in the league. Youngster Dalton Kincaid had a productive rookie season.

With a mix of veterans and youth, this new group will be seen as an asset to Allen when he has the ball in his hands. If Allen continues to run with no free agent, the results won’t be so great. However, the Buffalo Bills have the potential to make their new faces work well together.
