PIMA COUNTY, Arizona (Scripps News Tucson/Court TV) – An Arizona man is facing multiple charges after a woman was killed when she jumped out of his car.

Authorities said 54-year-old Debra Murietta called police Saturday night to report a domestic violence incident involving 36-year-old William Holloway.

According to a press release, Murietta said she was in the car with her boyfriend driving and he refused to stop and let her out after taking an “illegal drug.”

Pima County Sheriff’s officers attempted to stop the car, but Holloway refused to stop, so officers pursued his car at varying speeds up to 45 mph. The pursuit ended when Murietta jumped out of the moving car. Authorities said she died at a local hospital.

Holloway’s car was later found with a flat tire. He was arrested Sunday on several charges, including first-degree murder and domestic violence kidnapping.
