2 men shot near Clinton Hill shelter, police say – NBC New York

Two men are dead and a third man was hospitalized in critical condition after shots were fired at two different crime scenes in Brooklyn that appeared to have occurred just minutes apart.

The first of what are believed to be two shootings occurred around 10:45 p.m. Sunday near the corner of Flushing Avenue and Steuben Street in Clinton Hill.

Police rushed to a park and found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest. The man, in his 30s, was taken to a nearby hospital but did not survive his injuries.

Just minutes later, police said another shooting occurred outside a migrant shelter on Ryerson Street near Flushing Avenue.

At the second crime scene, two men were found shot dead, a 21-year-old and a 59-year-old. Police said the younger man was hit by multiple gunshots and did not survive. The older man was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Investigators have not released the identities of the men killed in the two shootings.

Police have not publicly confirmed whether the two shootings are related.
